one horrible lunch experience

This restaurant is the worst.

It is the worst because we waited well over an hour after ordering for our food, or even our coffees to show up.

Other people got their food straight away. Perhaps we were not cool enough, or didn’t look enough like smelly hippies.

What’s so hard about getting a couple of coffees? That’s the easiest food service task that there is.

The sandwich contained many of my favorite food stuffs, but that’s all I got for my 10 bucks. One sandwich. No side order of something – anything. Coffee was extra.

We got ignored like junk mail.

So the waitress got tipped like junk mail, which is to say, not much at all. She only got any tip because I didn’t want to wait around any longer.

Aux Vivres vegetarian restaurant, on St. Laurent in Montréal, you suck.

From their website: "in a casual & artistic ambiance".

Maybe the waitress was taking that casual part a little too literally? Maybe the staff are given artistic licence on how to act like a waitress?

Or maybe they just suck.

Every waiter/waitress has a bad day and screws up orders or forgets things BUT a complimentary coffee after waiting over an hour, or a COMPLIMENTARY MEAL would have been truly appreciated. Actually, a heartfelt "I'm really sorry, I screwed up" would have landed her a healthy tip.

Two tables arrived after us, and LEFT before we got our food. No apology. No attempt to make amends. The place was obviously short staffed, but that jerk-ass bad-day waitress sure was playing close attention to the family table of 6 across from us. It's too bad that she didn't know I'm so bad at math that I usually leave GIGANTOR tips.

I had to fight the urge to spit at her when we left.

The food was okay but overpriced and CAME WAY TOO LATE.

Aux vivres, you sucked hard the first time around, with stoned & stupid wait staff, but now you have been renovated. You should have hired new wait staff AND hired a decent designer to do your menus. A pox on you! A pox!
